Beautiful effortlessly: wearing sweat pants, a white t-shirt and the sweaty face. "Now you think that journalists make me nervous, I was actually playing football," joked Jamie Dornan, 32.

Match the actor in Belfast, his hometown, on the set of the TV series The Fall, airing this fall on Sky Atlantic. He would face almost a good guy if it were not for those eyes indecipherable, as if hiding a mystery. He will be the fascinating and perverse Mr. Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, the bestselling EL James, released on Valentine's Day next year. And Grace I will present a preview.

Let's proceed with order: The Fall, Jamie plays Paul Spector, respectable family man by day, serial killer by night. The fiction has been so successful that it has been commissioned a second series and Dornan had to catapult to Belfast from the set of Fifty Shades. "Here I feel at home and not just a question of geography: The Fall has changed my life," he confesses. In fact, before Jamie was a model, dubbed the " golden chest " after the campaign for Calvin Klein , now is a credible actor and engaging.

Among his former there are Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley, but a year is married to English singer-songwriter and actress Amelia Warner from whom he had a daughter, born last November.

You suggested to Allan Cubitt (writer and producer of The Fall) to make his character a loving father. Why?

"Allan argued that a serial killer couldn’t love his own children, but I see it differently. I think it’s important to tell that side of the character to make the character as realistic as possible."

In The Fall, there are quite gruesome scenes: did you ever feel uncomfortable on the set?

"Every role has difficult sides. But sometimes at night, I had nightmares."

You must be good with ropes between the strangulations in The Fall and the erotic games in Fifty Shades of Grey?

"I can assure you that strangling an actress with a rope isn’t the most pretty thing you can do! For Fifty Shades of Grey, I can’t say anything. The production imposed absolute silence.

Okay, but can you tell me at least that since they choose you to become Christian Grey, how your life has changed? Starting with the attention of the press.

"I don't really see like that, maybe because I have worked tirelessly this year and this allowed me to protect me from the invasion of journalists and paparazzi. Of course I’m happy for my career."

I read in an interview that doctors have diagnosed you with abnormal levels of adrenaline.

"Yes, it's true. But I don't think this will help me in the profession: I hate actors who exaggerate and do more than what is needed in a scene."

The modeling career was a springboard to Hollywood, right?

"Yes, I was lucky, if I hadn't earned my living as a model maybe I would have given up my dream of becoming an actor. But I always wanted to be an actor and underneath I thought that giving up would have been madness."

Yeah, thank goodness that did not give up. Now that I knew him, I can tell you this: there is no Mr. Grey better than him.

New info about Jamie's character from 'Flying Home' Press Kit + Director Dominique Deruddere talks about Jamie

From Flying Home press kit:

Characters | Cast
Colin | Jamie Dornan

Colin Montgommery has it all. He's young, rich, handsome, intelligent and successful. He lives in New York, ‘on top of the world’. He lives only for his work, has barely a social life, and is willing to go to great lengths to get what he wants. He is a ruthless businessman who does not deviate from his path until he ends up in Flanders, and there he discovers that there is more to life than money and power…

Dominique Deruddere: "The actor we wanted for the role of Colin had to be someone that would be able to portray in a believable way the reversal of a ruthless businessman, who encounters himself in Flanders Fields and questions his lifestyle. Via our British casting agent Kate Dowd, I received a lot of resumes and tapes sent by young actors who fitted the picture 'handsome and successful', but no one appeared to have that ‘second layer’, which is so necessary for the main character. Jamie had more than his 'pretty boy' look at first revealed. I was immediately interested and a scene from the yet unfinished 'The Fall', the series directed by Jakob Verbruggen was decisive to me. This young fashion model turned out to be a solid actor!

Cinematographer Seamus McGarvey Talks About 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and Mentions Jamie

Can you tell us anything about your work for the upcoming films ‘Pan’ or ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’?

“I am subject to not give away too much, but I can tell you that ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is going to be incredibly sexy! I had a great time working on the film because it was with [director] Sam Taylor-Johnson, who is an artist that I have worked with for 25 years now. She is a great friend so there’s an immediate creative bond between us. Working with Jamie Dornan was also a pleasure; we had a great cast overall. I think it’s going to be a wonderful film.

Bronagh Waugh Talks About Jamie

On the subject of scenes on The Fall, it’s only natural to ask what everyone else wants to know… what it’s like to play the wife of serial killer Paul Spector, or more importantly, act out love scenes with former Mr Calvin Klein and the immortalised Christian Grey otherwise known as Jamie Dornan.

“I get asked that all the time,” she begins on the subject. “He’s just Jamie. When you’re an actor and you work on the set all the time, it’s just a work thing. The interest is weird,” she continued.

“Our intimate scenes are the least intimate moments ever. For a start there are 40 people in the room. I remember we did this one scene, in the bath and the water had to be still, no bubbles. I got in and lay down and I see Jamie’s shoulders going like this (shakes) and I look down and there’s my modesty cover floating down the bath so when things like that happen, it’s the most unromantic, unsexy thing ever,” recalled Bronagh.

Jamie Dornan’s rise to fame as an actor could very easily dominate a conversation with Bronagh and she’d happily chat for hours about his skillset, his professionalism and what a great guy he is without resentment; “I went for an audition once and I think I was only called in because I worked with Jamie. It’s just a really weird thing and I’m like ‘yes, but did you see the show? Did you like the show?’”

Funny is one adjective that is very apt for Bronagh. Humour is all part of her makeup. She’s one very funny lady and her self-deprecating tales could while away hours in her company.

One example is her recital of the IN! Magazine Awards in March when she took the title of Woman of the Year – an experience she reflects on with pride but a touch of embarrassment.

Victor Rasuk Talks About Jamie and Dakota Johnson

Fifty Shades costar Victor Rasuk, who plays Anastasia Steele's best friend Jose and the love rival of Christian Grey in the film, says the actors are hot, hot, hot.

"I've been sworn to secrecy but I will say this: Dakota was amazing," Rasuk told us exclusively Thursday at his Godzilla premiere in Hollywood. "Jamie was amazing. It was one of those things where we came into it wanting to do it justice. And I think all the fans, the millions of fans, will also love what we did. I think we did it justice."

Rasuk filmed all of his scenes alongside Johnson and Dornan. "Dakota was fantastic," he gushed of working with her. "She's super nice, down to earth and she's going to be a fantastic Anastasia."

As for Dornan, Rasuk added, "As a guy, person to person, he was amazing to talk to and amazing to work with."

Rita Ora Talks About Jamie

We asked the singer [Rita Ora] if she finds it difficult pretending to be Jamie’s sister as he’s just so hot.

“No, it was incredible, cause his wife was there and he just had a kid so it was a very family orientated kind of thing, obviously when it’s on set the kid stays at home.”

The star said that she’s been sworn to secrecy on the notorious Red Room and she cannot spoil the movie for anyone, not even us.

“I can’t give too much away I’ve literally been sworn to secrecy. This is like a big movie, everybody’s waiting for it."

Gillian Anderson talks about 'The Fall' Season Two and Jamie (April 2014)

Lisburn Today - The 45-year-old actress said that while she could not reveal any of the plot lines of series two of The Fall, she promised viewers would be gripped.

“All I can say is that this series is going to be a lot more explosive and intense,” she teased. “You wouldn’t want to miss it.”

Of her co-star Jamie Dornan, Gillian had only high praise, saying that “he’s just one of the loveliest young men and I’m really happy for him with his success and his family, he’s just a sweetheart, he’s a great guy.”

BelfastTelegraph - "I think she is maybe getting a little bit closer to him," says Gillian Anderson with a laugh as she teases what we can expect in the next series of The Fall.
'Him' of course is none other than the hottest property in Hollywood, Co Down actor Jamie Dornan, who stars alongside Gillian in what became the highest rated drama on BBC2 last year.

Author Teresa Mummert mentions Jamie

"Jamie Dornan also makes it into my top three favorite celebrities because of his character on The Fall. He plays the part of a serial killer brilliantly. I love getting a glimpse into an emotionally damaged character's mind, especially if it's done so skillfully."

New Jamie Interview with The Guardian (April 2014)

The Guardian - From a killer in The Fall to the S&M hero of Fifty Shades of Grey, Jamie Dornan is poised for superstardom. But, asks Benji Wilson, will he ever be free of his pants-modelling past?

Acting is a strange way to make a living, but you can pick up all kinds of skills on the job. In recent months, for example, Jamie Dornan has become particularly good with knots. When we meet in London he is on a break from filming a second series of The Fall in Belfast, in which he plays a serial killer who ties up his victims. Before that he was in Vancouver filming the big-screen adaptation of EL James's Fifty Shades of Grey. Dornan plays the lead, Christian Grey, a man who also practises a bit of rope work, though in his case, as part of consensual S&M. In fact, the only time Dornan has been able to stop the tethering in 11 months of relentless filming has been playing Abe Goffe in Peter Flannery's Restoration drama, New Worlds.

"There are a couple of classic knots I know now," says the 31-year-old, "and I've put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact I'd like to do a job where I don't have to tie women to beds."

Two years ago, Dornan was a member of one of entertainment's most derided subspecies, the actor-slash-model. A boy from Belfast who'd struck it lucky and wound up working with Bruce Weber and Calvin Klein, he had always wanted to act, so went to the US for pilot season: LA's annual casting meat market – the recollection of which, he tells me, makes him feel physically sick.

Expecting to book more love interest roles in chintzy dramas like Once Upon a Time, he was instead called back to audition for The Fall in the UK. Allan Cubitt's startling script turned out to be BBC2's biggest drama launch in years, largely thanks to the warped ying and yang of Gillian Anderson as a frosty detective set against Dornan as Paul Spector, caring therapist by day, rapist and murderer by night. Dornan has a natural, fidgety intensity – "a doctor once told me I have abnormal levels of adrenaline in my system" – and in The Fall he showed that he could twist the same pent-up fervour that was sexy in a Calvin Klein campaign into something deeply unnerving. Last month his performance earned him a Bafta best actor nomination.

Meanwhile, British actor Charlie Hunnam, who had been cast to play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, pulled out, and Dornan replaced him, awaiting whatever slings and arrows EL James's adoring readership will lob at him when Sam Taylor-Wood's film is released early next year. There is also the small matter of a one-year-old marriage, to the singer Amelia Warner, and a five-month-old daughter.

Dakota Johnson mentions Jamie (April 2014)

Dakota Johnson is a little more vocal when it comes to defending the casting of Northern Irish hunk Jamie Dornan as male protagonist Christian Grey:

"Ultimately, the decision that was made was great and Jamie's wonderful. I'm really excited for people to see him."
